Our work is grounded in human-scale design and a close relationship between people, place and the built environment. We work across architecture, interiors and temporary spaces, approaching each project through its specific context. Through material, atmosphere and experimentation, we create spaces that feel distinct, generous and deeply connected to how they are experienced.
Tyyni is an experiential sound and spatial installation set inside Öljysäiliö 468, a monumental former oil silo in Helsinki. Drawing on the scale and atmosphere of the space, the installation formed a landscape of sand dunes, suspended textiles and soft elements. The spatial experience was shaped together with a soundscape by Yoichi Kamimura, lighting by Elias Tuura and poetry by Elina Sulin. Installation Design & Production Lead: ZARU Studio. Shelly House is an ongoing hospitality concept by Zaru Studio for a small-scale villa prototype in Thailand. Currently in development, the proposal investigates climate-responsive design and experimental shell-building methods for a contemporary micro-villa in a tropical context. Zaru Studio designed and executed a hand-sculpted floral wall relief for the WC space of Magu Restaurant in Helsinki. The aim was to transform a small room into a quiet, atmospheric moment within the restaurant experience. Scope: Concept, wall relief design & execution. Location: Helsinki, Finland. Year: 2026
A Residential interior by Zaru Studio shaped around a bold, personal and expressive atmosphere. The project brings together art-driven styling and curated vintage design objects sourced through auction houses to form an elegant yet intimate living environment. ZARU Studio is a Helsinki-based architecture studio working across Europe and Asia. Founded in 2026, the studio is run by a multidisciplinary team with backgrounds in architecture, interior design and civil engineering.
